Description: 2013 Day of the Volkswagen Show 'n' Shine Show and Shine Sunday 20 October 2013 Yarra Valley Racecourse Armstrong Grove Yarra Valley New venue entrance procedure All vehicles that are to be judged or parked in the venue will enter a single gate in the top outside parking area.
Temporary lanes for pre-registered vehicles and pay on the day vehicles will extend towards the venue’s last grounds entrance. A pay station will be setup at the end of the temporary lanes. If you are parking inside the venue continue towards the far end of the venue and turn right to enter the venue. If your car is to be judged turn right at the Pay Station and drive back towards Armstrong Grove. You can assemble in the roadway that runs along side the venue wall and wait till the judging gate opens at 9.00am.
This is the car detailing area The Day of the Volkswagen 2013 – Judging Arrangements Entry forms and judging criteria for 2013, the main features of which are -
• Split judging forms for modified and standard vehicles
• A bonus points system for standard vehicles to encourage the preservation and display of standard vehicles
• Separate ‘Best of Show’ trophies for standard and modified vehicles
• Presidents Choice Award. One trophy that will be awarded totally at the discretion of the VW Club of Victoria President
• Relaxation of restrictions on entering modified vehicles in standard categories. (Vehicles which are of a standard appearance but are, for example, lowered with different wheels, engine and interior components, can now enter a standard category if they choose. This will avoid their having to compete against heavily modified big budget vehicles. They may not, however, score bonus points for originality, and as such, presentation and quality of paint, interior, etc will have to be of the highest standard).
• Entry forms have been created for modified vehicles with an expansion of judging criteria and categories
• Under Body judging has been removed from the judging criteria and has been reserved for future Concourse events Standard and Modified judging will take place just inside the venue. The venue judging gate will open at 9.00am. Once you pass the payment station turn to your right and drive back towards Armstrong Grove. There will be room on either side of the roadway located next to the venue wall to park your car and complete any final detailing before judging.
You can spend as much time as you like detailing your car before continuing down the judging lane entrance to the venue gates where the judges will be waiting for you. The judging times are from 9.00am to 11.00am. We are looking forward to the Day of the Volkswagen being a fun day for all and realise that while many great cars will be on display, not everyone can win. Judges will try to ensure that the judging will be fair for all who enter. Good luck to all.
